OVERVIEW OF THE RICHARDS / FAT DPFP SYSTEM
Richards Engineering have pioneered the application of FAT Dense Phase Full Pipe pneumatic conveying systems in the UK since 1987 with over 200 installations.
This unique form of pneumatic sand conveying offers many advantages over the standard dense phase conveying system, in that with the DPFP the conveying pipes lines remain full of sand all the time, thus no air purge is required at the end of the conveying cycle, and hence the system requires considerably less compressed air than a conventional dense phase system uses to convey the same sand tonnage.
Additional advantages of the DPFP system, is that pipe utilization is maximized, and hence the sand transportation speed is considerably reduced, this will provide a substantial reduction in pipe wear and maintenance, in addition to reduced sand degradation by destructive impact and abrasion. (The DPFP system should not be confused with the high velocity Lean phase, and standard Dense phase systems where high air consumption is still evident along with the associated pipe wear, and sand degradation).
Further advantages are gained when sand is required at several stations, (e.g. to several secondary sand distribution silos) as the DPFP system does not require the use of pinch valves to divert sand to each station.
THE RICHARDS / FAT DPFP SYSTEM PROVIDES
LOWER AIR CONSUMPTION THAN STANDARD DENSE PHASE SYSTEMS
LOWER SAND VELOCITIES
REDUCED PIPE LINE WEAR
REDUCED PARTICLE DEGRADATION
NO PINCH VALVES FOR DIVERSION TO ALTERNATIVE SILOS
NO SETTLING OUT PROBLEMS IN THE PIPE
LOWER MAINTENANCE
FLEXIBILITY OF ROUTING
FULLY PLC AUTOMATED SYSTEM WITH PRIORITY CALL UP
PERMITS DISTRIBUTION RUNS THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE WITH STANDARD DENSE PHASE SYSTEMS
SYSTEM PERFORMANCE MONITORING
